Filtration

SAI offers a wide variety of equipment for water treatment filtration. We are pleased to be authorized distributors of both Harmsco and Shelco housings and filters. We also offer custom filtration solutions designed by our water treatment professionals to assist with your unique filtration requirements.

Media Filtration

Media Filtration is the most effective method for removal of suspended organic and inorganic solids from water. Media filters are used as one stage of pre-treatment before an RO system. During the filtration process, suspended solids are trapped in the filter media. Periodically this contaminant must be removed. This procedure is called backwashing.

Sand Media Filtration

Sand Media Filtration provides effective removal of suspended solids commonly found in many water sources. Sand Media filters utilize permanent filtration media and automatic backwashing for ease of operation.

Granular Activated Carbon Systems

Granular Activated Carbon Systems utilize the principles of adsorption for the removal of compounds that are too small for removal with multimedia filtration. Activated Carbon filters are successful in removing chlorine related compounds, organic chemicals, tastes and odours, halogenated organic compounds, and other highly dispersed contaminates.
